If you diden't know about Granny D you should have! Her initiative to help working people vote included a campeign where she took voters registration forms to workers on their job site and worked their job so they would have time to fill out the paperwork. At over 100 years old, she left us this year.
but the last 10 years were very active both registering people and walking cross country to raise awareness for women's vote.
Granny D understood what was important to people and made it her way of life to help people fullfill their rights as an american.

first national award at 13 ... and classically trained by mentors,Widowed by 23, by 24 she had all ready had two major museum shows. Attended several of the largest festivals in the Southeast. Part of the Buford Artist's Colony,(ga) and gave regular galleries nightmares with how she felt art transactions should be done!.By 25 she was Co Owner of a gallery, art school ,studios, and artist retreat. Recently retired from the promotion and hospitality industry, she has time to work again...
