I think the two main influences on my work are my love of paint and my admiration of Australian Aboriginal art. I love paint. I love the way it flows over surfaces, highlighting texture or concealing it. Aboriginal paintings have a gorgeous palate and use deceptively simple motifs to tell multi-layered stories. I have to use layer after layer of paint in my work until it feels right. Of course the paintings have meaning for me but I like the idea of people making their own sense of the work. I have been painting for 20 years. I studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and London Guildhall University in London.
